High-resolution CT Scans
CT scans are images taken with x-rays and a specialized computer. The scans provide cross-sectional images of major body systems. High-resolution scans of small, intricate body structures are performed routinely. CT scanning is the preferred technology to diagnose many conditions, including stroke, brain injury, chest and abdominal pain, and certain cancers.
Beachwood Medical Center has a 16-slice CT scanner capable of high-resolution imaging for inpatient and outpatient CT imaging needs. The low table height on our system allows for easier access for patients with mobility issues. The new dose reduction technology decreases the patient radiation dose by up to 40%, while the automated applications select the scanning parameters for the best image at the lowest dose.
A radiologist will interpret your exam, and a report will be sent to your physician, who will discuss the results with you.
